An earlier newsletter (CH-067) highlighted the repair and protection of a northeastern US commuter train waiting room floor completed 8 years ago. The surface of the floor was prepped and CHEMCLAD P4C was used as a primer. Two coats of CHEMCLAD GP were then applied with an aluminum oxide broadcast for slip-resistance properties.
At the same time in a different waiting room, at the same station, a conventional paint system was applied to the floor.
As you can see from these photos, the conventional paint system failed, almost completely. But after 8 years, the CHEMCLAD GP is in near perfect condition and still performing as originally intended.
