Bridge Repaired with ENECRETE, CHEMCLAD, METALCLAD and ENESEAL

This small island's bridge, beach access staircase and tunnel were deteriorating due to their proximity and decades of exposure to saltwater spray.  Not only was this an eyesore, but residents were equally concerned with their safety and the safety of the community.

The municipality that oversees the maintenance of this concrete and steel structure contacted the local ENECON Distributor for cost-effective solution recommendations.

If this structure were not repaired, it would pose a significant problem for cars that need to access the island, as well as for beachgoers using the stairs or tunnel to reach the beach on foot.

ENECON's exclusive distributor in the northeastern U.S. first repaired all the damaged and missing concrete using fiber-reinforced polymer rebar (FRP) and ENECRETE DuraFill.  The stairs were reformed using ENECRETE DuraQuartz and CHEMCLAD GP with an aggregate broadcast to create a slip-resistant surface.

The steel supports under the bridge were grit blasted and formed with ENECRETE DuraQuartz.   The support's steel was then reinforced using a METALCLAD DuraWrap Carbon Fiber system.

The municipality maintenance team and the island's residents were extremely happy with the final results of this project.
