Client:
Australian aluminum can manufacturer.
Problem:
In this steel tank, 98% sulphuric acid and sodium hydroxide are mixed with the manufacturing byproduct gray water to neutralize the content of the water. The existing rubber liner was corroding and had holes, creating leaks in the tank.
Solution:
The rubber liner was high pressure water blasted off the inner tank surface. The inner surface was then abrasive blasted followed by a thorough cleaning. Two coats of CeramAlloy CL+AC were applied to provide corrosion protection. Not only did this application save this manufacturer the cost of a new tank, the downtime was limited to only 5 days.
