'Boneyard' Pump Back in Operating Condition
This large pump, from a southern U.S. steel mill had been left to rust away in a ‘boneyard’. After an inspection it was determined that the pump could be salvaged with comprehensive repairs made with ENECON products, saving the steel mill operators tens-of-thousands of dollars for a new pump.
The pump was grit blasted inside and out and repairs were made with DurAlloy and by welding the severely damaged areas. After the repairs were made, the inside of the pump pieces and the end basket were protected with two coats of CeramAlloy CL+AC and the outside was protected with CHEMCLAD GP.
This pump will serve as a back-up when needed to eliminate costly down-time and very expensive replacement costs.
