There are a multitude of industries that use trucks in their process. Factories and chemical processors will use trucks for transporting goods and other substances. Municipalities will use trucks for de-icing roads, where they use highly aggressive road salts consisting of sodium chloride, calcium chloride and magnesium chloride. Too few fleet managers are willing, or able, to spend the resources to protect their commercial truck beds. But national estimates say, “fixing and replacing damaged trucks and/or trailers was costing the industry $2.4 billion to $4 billion”.

ENECON was asked protect this commercial truck bed at a geothermal power plant in California. Very salty brine mineral debris had to be transported to another facility. The steel beds of the truck were experiencing corrosion. The maintenance team tried traditional paintings and liners, but found that these would wear away in a short period of time.
ENECON recommended the power plant team to use CHEMCLAD SC. After the beds of the trucks were grit blasted, two coats of CHEMCLAD SC were applied to the 550 sq. ft. truck bed. After one year in service, transporting the extremely corrosive material, the truck beds showed no signs of corrosion. To date, there are been 27 commercial truck beds protected using CHEMCLAD SC.
