How to Avoid Expensive Water Damage

Treated and Untreated Concrete

An Invisible Weather Resistant Barrier Protects Concrete Surfaces

Without a Water Resistant Barrier, Concrete Surfaces May Deteriorate

While concrete, brick, stone, cement and other masonry surfaces may appear to be strong, water can quickly erode these materials. Over time cracks can introduce moisture that can undermine the materials stability. Once damage has occurred, restoration or replacement can be expensive as well as time consuming and may put other structures at risk. Most common causes, such as: weather conditions, sea water, or ground water, can’t be avoided. Other issues like leaks may go unnoticed for some time.

Restoration of surfaces often requires a specialist, but it can be avoided. By treating surfaces before water has a chance to penetrate and damage them, you will not only protect your structures from water sources, but you will extend the life of the materials by creating a weather resistant barrier.

Concrete Water Repellent Technical Advances Increase Protection of Masonry Surfaces

Waterproofing is not a difficult process. However, without an advanced penetrant, water repellents can: simply wash off, not adhere properly, or require exacting application techniques that may eventually lead to failure. With technological advances, new hydrophobic and hydrophilic waterproofing systems give concrete a water resistant quality. This type of concrete water repellent can provide invisible protection that will even minimize the effects of freeze-thaw cracking, surface scaling, or corrosion of reinforcing steel. New advances in masonry weatherproofing materials that rely on polymers provide advanced adhesion and breath-ability, unlike older products in this category.

Choose a Breathable Product for the Best Water Resistant Barrier

ENESEAL MP and ENESEAL® MP/HS repel water and water-borne salts by forming an invisible hydrophobic barrier inside the pores of masonry surfaces. This breathable product allows water vapor to escape from inside the concrete, while reducing the chance of liquid water penetration into the substrate. It is designed to work with all types of materials, including concrete, stone, brick, block, clay tile, mortar, cement and other masonry surfaces. UV resistance increases protection from sun damage, creating a complete weather resistant barrier. By developing an invisible water resistant barrier on masonry surfaces to depths of up to ¾ inch, it will not wear away during extreme weather conditions or as a result of surface traffic.

ENESEAL MP and ENESEAL® MP/HS are available from ENECON® Corporation. It is environmentally safe and ready to use.
